Angelina Jolie’s In the Land of Blood and Honey picked up
FilmDistrict has bought the rights to Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut In the land of Blood and Honey, GK Films has announced in Cannes.
Shot in Bosnia last year, the film focuses on a Bosnian woman and a Serbian man who are separated during the war.
The film stars Zana Marjanovic, Rade Serbedzija and Goran Kostic and was filmed simultaneously in both English and BHS (formerly Serbo-Croatian) languages.
In a statement, Jolie said, “The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it’s also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living inside a war.”
